Requirements:
1. Clinical Governance & Regulatory Compliance
Safe Dispensing: Ensure 100% accuracy in the review, preparation, and dispensing of prescriptions, providing expert counseling on drug interactions and side effects.
Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs): Enforce and regularly update SOPs to maintain the highest standards of pharmaceutical ethics and safety.
Legal Compliance: Maintain strict adherence to the Pharmacists Council of Nigeria (PCN) and NAFDAC regulations, ensuring all licenses and permits are current.
2. Operational & Financial Management
Inventory Control: Lead procurement and inventory management strategies to minimize stockouts and prevent the expiration of high-value medications.
Financial Oversight: Monitor daily sales, manage petty cash, and implement cost-control measures to ensure the pharmacy remains profitable.
Audit Readiness: Oversee regular internal audits of controlled substances and general stock to ensure zero discrepancies.
3. Team Leadership & Business Growth
Staff Supervision: Recruit, train, and mentor pharmacy technicians and front-of-shop staff, fostering a culture of high performance and empathy.
Patient Outcomes: Drive clinical service excellence (e.g., blood pressure monitoring, diabetes screening) to improve patient health and brand loyalty.
Strategic Expansion: Identify opportunities for service growth, such as home delivery programs or corporate health partnerships, to increase the pharmacy’s market share.
Qualifications and Skills:
Education & Experience
Academic Background: Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm) or Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D) from a recognized institution.
Licensure: Current and valid license to practice from the Pharmacists Council of Nigeria (PCN).
Proven Tenure: Minimum of 3–5 years of experience, with at least 2 years in a managerial or supervisory role within a community or hospital pharmacy.
Core Competencies
Attention to Detail: Meticulous approach to clinical screening and record-keeping.
Leadership: Strong ability to manage interpersonal dynamics and mentor junior staff.
Commercial Acumen: Understanding of retail pharmacy margins, procurement strategies, and customer retention.
