Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive Network Engineer to join our IT infrastructure team in Abuja. In this role, you will be the backbone of our digital connectivity, ensuring the seamless operation, security, and scalability of our network environment across our head office, branches, data centers, and remote access points. Requirements:

• Infrastructure Management: Install, configure, monitor, and maintain enterprise-grade LAN, WAN, routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs.

• Connectivity Assurance: Guarantee stable network connectivity for all business operations, including branch connectivity, core banking systems, and remote user access.

• Performance Monitoring: Proactively monitor network uptime, bandwidth utilization, and service availability; resolve network incidents with urgency.

• Security & Compliance: Implement and enforce rigorous network security controls, manage access permissions, perform system patching, and execute vulnerability remediation.

• System Support: Provide technical oversight for servers, backup systems, email services, and internet connectivity.

• Documentation & Asset Governance: Maintain detailed network documentation, IP address records, configuration backups, and asset licensing to ensure audit readiness.

• Vendor Liaison: Act as the primary point of contact for Internet Service Providers (ISPs), hardware vendors, and third-party IT service partners.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree or HND in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, or a related discipline.

• Experience: Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in network administration, infrastructure support, or enterprise IT operations.

• Certifications: Professional certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, CompTIA Network+/Security+, Fortinet, Azure, AWS, or ITIL are highly valued and will be considered an advantage.

• Industry Context: Previous experience working within banking, fintech, financial services, or other highly regulated environments is a distinct advantage.

• Technical Proficiency:

  • Deep expertise in routing, switching, firewall administration, and VPN technologies.

  • Strong knowledge of network monitoring tools, cybersecurity best practices, and backup/recovery strategies.
