Job Description:

1. Core Repairs & Technical Maintenance

• Mechanical & Structural Fixes: Diagnose and repair leaks, faulty locks, broken fixtures, and perform essential carpentry.

• Specialized Systems: Execute basic electrical and plumbing repairs. Ability to take apart machines or devices to remove and replace defective parts using repair manuals or parts catalogs.

• Testing & Precision: Use electronic testing devices and precision measuring instruments to troubleshoot complex equipment failures.

2. Preventative Care & Inspections

• Routine Inspections: Conduct scheduled maintenance on HVAC systems, life-safety equipment, and machinery to prevent costly breakdowns.

• Safety Compliance: Ensure all work is performed in accordance with building codes and safety procedures.

• Installation: Support facility improvements by installing shelves, fixtures, and appliances, or assisting with larger construction projects.

3. Groundskeeping & Facility Upkeep

• Environmental Cleaning: Maintain a high standard of cleanliness by sweeping, mopping, dusting, and managing waste disposal.

• Landscaping: Manage grounds-keeping duties, including mowing lawns, clearing debris, and general landscaping to ensure a professional exterior appearance.

• Vendor Coordination: Advise supervisors on specialized contractor needs and oversee outside vendors to ensure quality work.

4. Documentation & Logistics

• Work Orders: Efficiently manage and complete digital or manual work orders, logging all activities to maintain a clear history of facility care.

• Reporting: Identify and report major structural or systemic issues to management before they become emergencies.

Requirements:

• Troubleshooting: Strong analytical skills to read blueprints and identify the root cause of mechanical failures.

• Physical Ability: High stamina and the strength to lift heavy objects and work in varied environments (indoor/outdoor).

• Soft Skills: Excellent time management, an eye for detail, and a professional attitude when interacting with staff or clients.

• Autonomy: Ability to maintain focus and productivity while working individually without constant supervision.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Education: High school diploma/GED; a degree or certificate from a technical college is highly preferred.

• Experience: Proven track record in general maintenance, facilities management, or a related trade.

• Technical Mastery: Skilled in the use of hammers, hoists, saws, drills, wrenches, and power tools.
