Job Description:

Are you a seasoned logistics professional with a background in humanitarian operations? We are seeking a Logistics Officer to manage procurement, asset tracking, and fleet operations for our Katsina base, with roving support to Kaduna.

Reporting to the Logistics Coordinator, you will ensure that all supply chain activities are transparent, cost-effective, and fully compliant with COOPI and international donor regulations. This role is ideal for a proactive "senior operator" who thrives in fast-paced, field-based environments.

Requirements:

Procurement & Vendor Management

  • Full-Cycle Procurement: Manage the procurement process from tender announcement to final delivery, ensuring all documents are electronically archived.

  • Tender Management: Issue tender documents, update supplier databases, and perform quarterly vendor appraisals.

  • Market Intelligence: Conduct regular market surveys to ensure competitive pricing and valid price lists.

  • Digital Integration: Perform precise data entry on REGOLO procurement software, ensuring all supporting documentation is uploaded correctly.

Asset & Facility Management

  • Inventory Control: Maintain the Asset Inventory Register, ensuring all equipment is authorized, tracked, and maintained according to policy.

  • Infrastructure Support: Oversee the maintenance of power systems (generators/inverters), ensuring zero downtime for office and guest house facilities.

  • Premises Management: Support the identification and contracting of warehouses and office spaces based on operational needs.

Fleet & Warehouse Operations

  • Fleet Oversight: Supervise drivers and rental vehicle services, ensuring trip logs, fuel tracking, and maintenance schedules are strictly followed.

  • Stock & Warehouse: Manage the storage and recording of materials, providing monthly fuel consumption and stock reports to the Logistics Coordinator.

  • Supply Liaison: Coordinate with project teams regarding receipts and dispatches to ensure timely project execution.

Compliance & Ethics

  • Zero Tolerance: Adhere to COOPI’s Anti-Fraud and Code of Conduct policies.

  • Global Standards: Apply UN CEDAW and UNCRC principles in all field interactions, ensuring beneficiaries are treated with dignity.

Qualifications and Skills:

 

  • Education: University degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.

  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar logistics/procurement role within an INGO or UN Organization.

  • Technical Knowledge: * Strong grasp of the Supply Chain and Procurement Cycle.

    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Advanced Excel) and procurement software (REGOLO preferred).

    • Experience in Fleet Management and Asset Tracking.

  • Soft Skills: Exceptional negotiation, communication, and report-writing skills (Tender & Monthly Logistics Reports).

  • Language: Fluency in English is required; knowledge of local languages (Hausa) is a significant advantage.

  • Mobility: Willing and able to travel frequently to remote areas between Katsina and Kaduna.
