Job Description:
We are looking for a strategic and highly organized Logistics Manager to spearhead our end-to-end supply chain operations in Lagos. This role demands an operator who can master the complexities of the Nigerian logistical landscape—from port clearances and warehouse optimization to last-mile delivery. You will lead procurement strategies, manage multi-site inventory, and supervise a team to ensure that our goods move with maximum efficiency and minimum cost. The ideal candidate is a problem-solver who can turn logistics into a competitive advantage for the company.
Requirements:
1. Supply Chain & Fleet Orchestration
Inbound/Outbound Oversight: Oversee the daily flow of goods, ensuring that transit times are minimized and delivery schedules are strictly met.
Vendor & Procurement Management: Lead procurement activities, negotiating with third-party logistics (3PL) providers and vendors to secure the best rates and service levels.
Regulatory Navigation: Ensure all shipments comply with Nigerian customs regulations and local transportation laws.
2. Inventory & Warehouse Integrity
Stock Optimization: Implement rigorous inventory management protocols to reduce "dead stock" and ensure optimal stock levels for high-demand items.
Warehouse Productivity: Organize warehouse layouts and workflows to increase picking speed and ensure the safety of both personnel and products.
Tech Integration: Utilize logistics software and ERP systems to track real-time stock movements and generate predictive demand reports.
3. Operational Leadership & Service Excellence
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Sales, Finance, and Customer Success to align logistics capacity with market demand and financial budgets.
Customer Satisfaction: Drive customer service excellence by resolving delivery discrepancies and proactively communicating delays to stakeholders.
KPI Monitoring: Track and report on key performance indicators, including "Cost per Tonne," "On-Time Delivery (OTD)," and "Inventory Turnover."
Qualifications and Skills:
Education & Experience
Academic Background: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field.
Proven Tenure: Deep expertise in Logistics and Supply Chain Management within the Nigerian market (experience with Lagos port operations is a major plus).
Leadership: Previous experience in a supervisory or leadership role, with a track record of managing diverse teams.
Core Competencies
Technical Proficiency: Mastery of relevant logistics tools and ERP software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or local logistics platforms).
Strategic Problem-Solving: Ability to think on your feet to resolve "Lagos-specific" logistics hurdles (e.g., traffic congestion, port delays).
Relationship Management: High-level negotiation skills and the ability to build trust with transporters and government agencies.
