Job Description:

We are seeking a high-precision and resilient Logistics Assistant to anchor our operations in Katsina. Within the context of the WFP-Community-Based Nutrition Support Programme, success is defined by "Nutritional Velocity", the ability to ensure that life-saving "Tom Brown" supplies move through the warehouse and to the community without expiration or disruption. This role is designed for a "Supply Chain Guardian" with 0–2 years of experience who can blend "Inventory Rigor" with the "Operational Grit" required to manage fleet logistics and asset tracking in challenging environments.

Requirements:

1. Warehouse Sovereignty & Stock Intelligence

  • Inventory Accuracy: Lead periodic cycle counts and fiscal year-end inventories in strict accordance with GHIV Africa policy to ensure 100% record accuracy.

  • Distribution Architecture: Assist program teams in engineering effective stock distribution plans, proactively preventing stock expiration or grant-closure bottlenecks.

  • Storage Governance: Oversee warehouse operations across operational LGAs, ensuring optimal storage conditions, rigorous security, and facility maintenance.

  • Performance Mentorship: Provide ongoing training and support to storekeepers to enhance reporting fidelity and operational velocity.

2. Asset Stewardship & Database Integrity

  • Accountability Tracking: Maintain an up-to-date database of all GHIV Africa assets, ensuring every staff member acknowledges accountability via formal receipt documentation.

  • Verification Rigor: Conduct quarterly physical asset verifications and submit high-fidelity reports to the Logistics Manager.

  • Lifecycle Management: Coordinate with Finance and Logistics leadership to implement asset maintenance systems and manage donor-compliant disposal procedures.

3. Fleet & Transport Orchestration

  • Mission Mobility: Oversee transport fleet operations, ensuring high-efficiency vehicle allocation to meet program delivery schedules.

  • Logistics Tracking: Implement and monitor systems to track and account for all transported goods from the warehouse to the final distribution point.

  • Compliance Oversight: Supervise drivers to ensure total adherence to transport policies, including the meticulous completion of vehicle log sheets and the maintenance of up-to-date licenses and insurance.

  • Resource Management: Manage the procurement and inventory of vehicle-related consumables, parts, and fuel with millimetric precision.

4. Humanitarian Ethics & Safeguarding

  • Safeguarding Advocacy: Strictly comply with and promote GHIV Africa’s PSEA/GBV and Child Safeguarding Policies, maintaining zero tolerance for sexual exploitation and harassment (SEAH).

  • Resilient Problem-Solving: Identify and implement solutions for logistics bottlenecks under challenging field conditions while maintaining the highest ethical standards.

Qualifications and Skills:

Professional Profile

  • Education: Diploma or HND in Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.

  • Experience: 0–2 years of experience in logistics or warehouse management (Humanitarian/NGO experience is a significant advantage).

  • Location: Must be ready to operate in Katsina and its surrounding LGAs.

Core Competencies

  • Operational Grit: Ability to work effectively under pressure and in challenging environments.

  • Integrity: Maintaining transparency and accountability in the management of valuable donor-funded assets.

  • Compassion: A genuine commitment to improving the well-being of vulnerable individuals in Northwest Nigeria.
