Job Description:

We are seeking a high-velocity and analytically elite Legal Officer to anchor the compliance engine of CCN Energy Ltd. In the specialized landscape of the energy sector where operational momentum is dictated by the strength of the contractual framework and the avoidance of litigation success is defined by "Legal Sovereignty", the ability to harmonize complex business transactions with the clinical precision required for Contract Vetting, Regulatory Filing, and Risk Mitigation. This role is designed for a "Legal Architect" with 2–3 years of post-call experience (including NYSC) who can blend "Drafting Grit" (reviewing and vetting intricate agreements) with the "Strategic Agility" required to provide real-time counsel to internal departments.

Requirements:

1. Orchestration & Contractual Governance

  • Drafting Sovereignty: Review, draft, and vet contracts and legal documents with millimetric focus, acting as the primary "Source of Contractual Integrity."

  • Regulatory Architecture: Ensure all company operations comply with applicable oil and gas laws, providing the "Structural Foundation" for a penalty-free environment.

  • Integrity Stewardship: Maintain proper documentation and filing of legal records, ensuring the "Source of Corporate Evidence" is elite and uncompromised.

2. Tactical Resilience & Risk Logic

  • Mitigation Sovereignty: Identify legal risks across the organization and advise on effective mitigation strategies, acting as the primary "Source of Preventative Law."

  • Advisory Architecture: Provide legal support to internal departments on complex business transactions, providing the "Functional Foundation" for secure commercial growth.

  • Liaison Stewardship: Coordinate with external legal counsel and regulatory bodies, maintaining the "Source of External Professional Relations."

3. Operational Integrity & Research Power

  • Dispute Sovereignty: Support dispute resolution processes and other legal proceedings when necessary, acting as the primary "Source of Conflict Neutralization."

  • Research Architecture: Conduct deep-dive legal research into emerging energy regulations, providing the "Relational Foundation" for forward-looking compliance.

  • Velocity Logic: Utilize 2–3 years of post-call expertise to navigate the Nigerian Bar requirements and oil and gas statutes, maximizing the "Source of Legal Throughput."

Qualifications and Skills:

Professional Profile

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Law (LL.B).

  • Mandatory Status: Must be called to the Nigerian Bar (B.L.).

  • Experience: 2–3 years post-call experience (NYSC experience is highly acceptable).

  • Domain Power: Strong understanding of Contract Law and legal documentation (Oil and Gas exposure is a plus).
