Job Description:

We are seeking a high-velocity and analytically elite Legal / Compliance Officer to anchor the regulatory engine of our finance house. In the specialized landscape of Nigerian financial services, success is defined by "Legal Sovereignty", the ability to harmonize complex corporate governance with the clinical precision required for Regulatory Reporting, Compliance Frameworks, and Asset Protection. This role is designed for a "Governance Architect" with 2–3 years post-call experience who can blend "Legal Grit" (managing contracts and bar-standard documentation) with the "Strategic Agility" required to navigate the oversight of various financial regulatory bodies.

Requirements:

1. Regulatory Orchestration & Governance

• Compliance Sovereignty: Manage and monitor the company’s adherence to all financial regulations, acting as the primary "Source of Regulatory Certainty."

• Corporate Architecture: Design and implement robust corporate governance frameworks, providing the "Structural Foundation" for institutional transparency.

• Reporting Stewardship: Oversee mandatory filings and communications with regulatory bodies, ensuring the "Source of Statutory Compliance" is elite and uncompromised.

2. Tactical Resilience & Legal Logic

• Risk Sovereignty: Identify and mitigate legal risks within the finance house’s operations, acting as the primary "Source of Institutional Protection."

• Contract Architecture: Draft, review, and negotiate legal agreements and financial instruments, providing the "Analytical Foundation" for secure business growth.

• Governance Stewardship: Advise the board and management on evolving financial laws, maintaining the "Source of Legal Foresight."

3. Operational Integrity & Performance Power

• Ethics Sovereignty: Enforce anti-money laundering (AML) and "Know Your Customer" (KYC) protocols, acting as the primary "Source of Ethical Vetting."

• System Architecture: Streamline legal documentation and internal audit-readiness, providing the "Visual Foundation" for operational accountability.

• Velocity Logic: Utilize 2–3 years of post-call expertise to resolve compliance hurdles in real-time, maximizing the "Source of Operational Throughput."

Qualifications and Skills:

Professional Profile

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Law (LL.B).

• Certification: Called to the Nigerian Bar (BL).

• Experience: 2 – 3 years of post-call experience, preferably within a Finance House or Financial Institution.

• Knowledge Base: Strong grasp of Financial Regulations, Corporate Governance, and Reporting Requirements.
