Job Description:
We are seeking a motivated, eloquent, and highly responsible Legal Assistant to join our growing practice. This position is uniquely designed for a qualified attorney who possesses a strong work ethic and is ready to transition into a leadership and supervisory role. In this capacity, you will manage a diverse portfolio of cases while taking active responsibility for team supervision, client intake conversion, and operational oversight.
The ideal candidate must be prepared to undergo rigorous initial training, adapt rapidly to the firm's specific methodologies, and lead by example through exceptional professionalism and accountability.
Requirements:
Case Management & Legal Execution
End-to-End Handling: Manage assigned legal matters across Immigration, Personal Injury/Accident, and Family Law from initial intake through to final resolution.
Document Architecture: Draft, review, and file precise legal documents, pleadings, formal correspondence, and complex case materials.
Professional Liaison: Communicate authoritatively and professionally with clients, colleagues, courts, medical providers, expert witnesses, and government agencies.
Docket Control: Maintain meticulously organized case management files and ensure all statutory and court-ordered deadlines are met.
Team Supervision & Operations
Quality Assurance: Supervise junior staff, reviewing submitted tasks, casework, and team assignments for absolute accuracy and timeliness.
Leadership & Mentorship: Provide daily leadership, accountability, and guidance to support staff, fostering a high-performance team culture.
Workflow Optimization: Assist leadership in developing internal workflows, resolving bottlenecks, and improving overall office efficiency.
Client Intake & Conversion
Consultation Leadership: Conduct consultations with prospective clients, communicating the firm’s value proposition clearly to convert leads into retained cases.
Intake Strategy: Ensure a seamless transition from initial prospect contact to active, properly documented case files.
Qualifications and Skills:
Educational & Licensing Credentials
Academic: Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from an accredited law school. An LLM is welcome but not mandatory.
Licensure: Must possess a valid Foreign Bar License (admitted to practice in a foreign jurisdiction).
Skills & Competencies
Communication Mastery: Must be an exceptionally eloquent, confident, and persuasive verbal and written communicator.
Leadership Capability: Strong organizational and supervisory skills, with the ability to manage a high-volume caseload while overseeing team tasks.
Adaptability & Coachability: A fast learner who is willing to undergo intensive, aggressive training to master the firm's practice areas and operational software.
Problem Solving: Self-motivated, proactive, and solution-oriented mindset with the ability to work independently under pressure.
Experience Context
Prior experience in immigration, personal injury, or family law is preferred but not mandatory for the right candidate who demonstrates the capacity to train aggressively and absorb complex legal frameworks rapidly.
