Job Description:

We are seeking a versatile and proactive Senior IT Systems & Network Administrator to lead the day-to-day operation, maintenance, and support of our enterprise technology environment. This role is critical in ensuring high availability across our offices and retail outlets. You will manage a diverse stack including Windows/M365 environments, SQL databases, multi-site network infrastructure, and Core Retail POS systems. The ideal candidate is a hands-on problem solver who can balance urgent user support with long-term infrastructure security, patching, and scalability.

Requirements:

1. Infrastructure & Cloud Administration

• Server Management: Administer Windows Servers, Active Directory/Azure AD, Group Policies, DNS, and DHCP.

• M365 Ecosystem: Full management of the Microsoft 365 tenant, including Exchange Online, Teams, OneDrive, licensing, and security/compliance settings.

• Virtualization & Cloud: Manage Windows Server VMs and cloud computing resources to ensure seamless service delivery.

2. SQL Database & Retail POS Systems

• SQL Administration: Responsible for the overall health, security, and maintenance of the organization's SQL Server database systems.

• Retail Technology: Support Core Retail Software systems, managing user accounts, workstation connectivity, and daily health checks.

• POS Hardware: Provide specialized support for retail peripherals, including barcode scanners, receipt printers, and cash drawers, ensuring zero downtime during business hours.

3. Network Security & Connectivity

• Network Engineering: Monitor and maintain LAN/WAN infrastructure, including switches, VLAN segmentation, and Wi-Fi Access Points across multiple locations.

• Edge Security: Configure and monitor firewalls (VPNs, rule updates, firmware) and escalate IDS/IPS alerts.

• Connectivity: Proactively monitor internet performance and coordinate with ISPs to resolve outages swiftly.

4. Endpoint Management & Support

• Device Lifecycle: Manage the setup, imaging (Windows 10/11), patching, and troubleshooting of laptops, desktops, and peripherals.

• Asset Tracking: Maintain a rigorous inventory of all IT equipment, tracking warranties and lifecycle replacement schedules.

• User Advocacy: Provide first- and second-line support while maintaining runbooks, SOPs, and knowledge base articles for common issues.

Qualifications and Skills:

Education & Experience

• Academic Background: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.

• Database Tenure: 3+ years of IT administration experience specifically within SQL Database environments.

• Network Tenure: 3+ years supporting Multi-branch (WAN/LAN) architectures.

• Technical Breadth: Hands-on experience with Azure AD, M365, Windows Server, VM management, and firewall configuration.

Core Competencies

• Security Mindset: Practical knowledge of endpoint protection, MFA, and patch management.

• Vendor Management: Ability to manage SLAs and service tickets with ISPs, POS providers, and hardware vendors.

• Flexibility: Willingness to provide after-hours support for critical incidents or new store openings.
