We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Description:

• We are seeking a skilled Technical Support / Network Engineer to provide technical support and design, implement, and maintain IT, security, and network solutions for corporate clients.
• The role involves troubleshooting core network issues, upgrading network infrastructure, and ensuring service delivery in line with agreed Service Level Agreements (SLAs).

Responsibilities:

• Provide technical support to corporate clients across IT, security, and network environments

• Design, implement, and support IT, security, and network solutions for enterprise clients

• Troubleshoot and resolve core network issues efficiently

• Perform upgrades and configuration of core network equipment

• Respond promptly to urgent client-site interventions to meet SLA requirements

• Monitor and maintain network performance and system availability

Personal and Administrative Responsibilities:

• Report directly to the Head of Department

• Take full responsibility for all equipment assigned to the team

• Demonstrate a high level of personal responsibility and professionalism as a role model to colleagues

• Comply with all departmental and company policies, rules, and regulations

• Execute assignments and tasks as directed by the Line Manager

• Stay informed through departmental communications (emails, notice boards, and other official channels)

• Continuously update technical knowledge to stay current with emerging technologies and industry best practices

Requirements:

Academic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (B.Sc or equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer Communication Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field

Professional Certifications

• CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate) – mandatory

• CCNP (Cisco Certified Network Professional) – an added advantage

Work Experience

• Minimum of 3 years proven hands-on experience in network engineering or network support roles

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English

Technical Skills & Competencies

• In-depth knowledge of the TCP/IP protocol stack

• Strong experience in configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of network equipment, including routers, switches, and firewalls

• Hands-on experience with MikroTik and Cisco devices

• Solid understanding of Layer 3 technologies such as EIGRP, OSPF, and BGP

• Strong knowledge of Layer 2 technologies, including VLANs, trunking, and STP

• Ability to optimize network performance through continuous monitoring and proactive troubleshooting

• Working knowledge of Unix/Linux servers, including RedHat, CentOS, and Debian

• Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies and multi-vendor network environments

• Proven ability to design network topologies and provide technical consultancy for corporate clients

• Strong troubleshooting skills in diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, and network issues

• Experience with LAC/LNS implementation and troubleshooting

• Knowledge of MPLS L2VPNs, L3VPNs, and VPLS is an advantage

• Experience configuring and maintaining Cisco ASA and Juniper firewalls is an added advantage
