Job Description:

We are seeking a diligent and analytical Internal Control Officer to join our team in Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti. In this critical oversight role, you will be responsible for safeguarding the bank’s assets, ensuring compliance with operational policies, and mitigating risks. The ideal candidate is an integrity-driven professional who can monitor organizational processes, conduct sensitive investigations, and provide strategic reporting to the Board of Directors.

Requirements:

• Strategic Reporting: Prepare and present quarterly reports to the Board of Directors concerning internal control activities and Enterprise Risk Management (ERM).

• Compliance & Monitoring: Monitor organization-wide adherence to laid-down policies, processes, and procedures. Actively identify and report internal control deficiencies, particularly during fieldwork with marketers and loan officers.

• Risk & Fraud Mitigation: Develop, review, and update operational risk-mitigation and fraud prevention strategies. Conduct confidential investigations into identified control breaches.

• Operational Oversight: Manage daily attendance records, resolve operational issues, and ensure the adequate care and maintenance of bank properties.

• Financial & Regulatory Management: Oversee budget implementation and cost control measures. Ensure accurate and timely rendition of regulatory returns to the appropriate authorities.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree or HND in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.

• Experience: 2–5 years of progressive experience in internal control, audit, or risk management, preferably within the banking or microfinance sector.

• Core Competencies:

  • Strong analytical and investigative skills.

  • High level of professional integrity and confidentiality.

  • Excellent report-writing and communication skills.

  • Sound understanding of regulatory requirements and financial compliance standards.
