Job Description:

We are seeking a diligent and meticulous Internal Auditor to join our team in Victoria Island. In this role, you will be the guardian of our internal controls, responsible for assessing the adequacy of our financial and operational systems. You will play a critical role in safeguarding company assets, conducting store compliance audits, and ensuring that our retail and inventory processes are both efficient and fraud-resistant. Requirements:

  • Audit Execution: Conduct store compliance and operational audits, functional tests, and specific reviews according to established audit programs.

  • Risk & Control Appraisal: Evaluate the adequacy and effectiveness of internal policies and procedures. Identify operational risks, determine areas for improvement, and collaborate with management to develop mitigation action plans.

  • Reporting & Communication: Prepare accurate audit work papers and comprehensive reports. Communicate audit findings, recommendations, and corrective actions clearly to both store and corporate management.

  • Inventory Management: Oversee all inventory stock counts; investigate and resolve discrepancies, overages, and shortages.

  • Loss Prevention: Proactively manage and execute strategies to prevent stock loss and financial leakages.

  • Financial & Operational Auditing: Perform detailed reviews of financial records, supply distribution, and general store operations.

  • Training & Development: Compile audit insights and educational topics to conduct presentations and training sessions for staff.

  • Compliance: Maintain up-to-date knowledge of legal regulations, industry trends, and global accounting/auditing best practices.

 

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Education: First Degree in Accounting.

  • Professional Certification: Chartered Accountant (ICAN) is required.

  • Experience: 3–5 years of relevant auditing experience.

  • Preferred Education: An M.Sc. or MBA is considered a significant added advantage.
