Job Description:
We are seeking a strategic and experienced Human Resources Manager to lead the HR function within our school. In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in shaping the institution's culture, attracting top-tier educational talent, and ensuring that our staff management practices are both compliant and progressive. You will balance high-level workforce strategy with the day-to-day operational excellence required to keep a school running smoothly, from payroll administration to professional development.
The ideal candidate is a tech-savvy HR professional who understands the unique staffing needs of the education sector and possesses the leadership maturity to manage a diverse academic and administrative team.
Requirements:
Talent Acquisition & Management
End-to-End Recruitment: Oversee the full lifecycle of recruitment, from identifying staffing needs to managing onboarding and maintaining meticulous staff documentation.
Performance Excellence: Manage the staff performance appraisal system, facilitating constructive feedback and driving professional growth.
Employee Relations: Lead disciplinary processes and grievance resolution with a focus on fairness, professionalism, and the school’s core values.
Policy & Strategy
Framework Development: Develop, implement, and monitor HR policies and procedures that reflect modern best practices and school-specific needs.
Strategic Advisory: Advise school management on organizational structure, HR planning, and long-term workforce strategies to improve institutional efficiency.
Culture Building: Actively work to build and maintain a positive, supportive, and high-performance work culture among academic and non-academic staff.
Operations & Compliance
Digital Administration: Utilize HR software and Microsoft Office to efficiently manage payroll, leave tracking, and personnel records.
Legal Compliance: Ensure all HR activities and school regulations are in strict alignment with Nigerian Labour Laws.
Capacity Building: Organize and coordinate professional development and training programs to enhance staff skills and educational delivery.
Qualifications and Skills:
Education & Experience
Degree: HND or B.Sc. in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
Seniority: Minimum of 3 years of professional HR experience, with a strong preference for candidates who have worked within the education sector.
Technical & Professional Skills
Computer Literacy: High proficiency in Microsoft Office (specifically Excel) and hands-on experience with HR management systems/software.
Regulatory Knowledge: Strong working knowledge of HR best practices and the Nigerian legal framework for employment.
Communication: Exceptional leadership and interpersonal skills, capable of communicating effectively with both management and staff.
