Job Description:
We are looking for a creative and highly skilled Hotel Chef to lead our culinary operations in Aba. In this role, your expertise will go far beyond the stove; you will be the heart of our kitchen, responsible for managing staff, ensuring impeccable food quality, and maintaining the highest standards of hygiene and efficiency.

Requirements:
Culinary Excellence & Menu Innovation
Food Preparation: Lead the preparation and cooking of meals according to the menu, ensuring every plate meets our standards for taste, presentation, and portion control.
Menu Planning: Design and introduce new dishes, maintaining a diverse and exciting menu that considers seasonality, customer preferences, and cost-effectiveness.
Customer Interaction: Address special dietary requests and interact with guests when necessary to ensure an exceptional dining experience.
Kitchen Management & Leadership
Staff Supervision: Manage the daily activities of cooks, assistants, and stewards, assigning duties to ensure a smooth and efficient workflow.
Training & Development: Mentor and train junior kitchen staff to improve their culinary skills and maintain high levels of discipline and morale.
Operations & Financial Control
Quality Control: Rigorously inspect all ingredients and finished dishes to ensure they are safe, high-quality, and visually appealing before leaving the kitchen.
Inventory Management: Monitor stock levels and order supplies proactively. You will be responsible for minimizing waste and controlling food costs to support the hotel’s profitability.
Health & Safety: Ensure strict compliance with all food safety and hygiene standards to prevent contamination and maintain a pristine kitchen environment.
Qualifications and Skills:
Experience: Proven experience as a Chef or Sous Chef, ideally within a hotel or high-volume restaurant environment.
Culinary Skills: Mastery of diverse cooking techniques and a strong eye for plate presentation.
Leadership: Demonstrated ability to manage and motivate a diverse kitchen team under pressure.
Business Acumen: Good understanding of food costing, inventory management, and kitchen math.
Professionalism:
Deep knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations.
Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
Ability to remain calm and efficient in a fast-paced environment.
