Job Description:
- We are a reputable engineering, procurement, and construction company is looking for an experienced Heavy Duty Truck Mechanic/Maintenance Technician to join our operations team.
- The ideal candidate must have good experience in repairing, servicing, and maintaining heavy-duty trucks, especially HOWO and Mantrac/Man Diesel trucks.
- The candidate should be able to diagnose faults, carry out repairs, and ensure all trucks are in good working condition for daily operations.
- This role is best suited for someone who is hardworking, technically skilled, and able to work with little supervision.
Key Responsibilities
- Service, repair, and maintain HOWO and Mantrac/Man Diesel trucks.
- Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults on trucks and fix them properly.
- Carry out routine maintenance such as oil change, filter replacement, greasing, and engine checks.
- Inspect trucks regularly to identify issues before breakdown occurs.
- Repair truck engines, gearboxes, brakes, suspension systems, and hydraulic systems.
- Test trucks after repairs to ensure they are working properly.
- Keep maintenance records and report major faults to management.
- Ensure all tools and equipment are properly handled and maintained.
- Respond quickly to truck breakdowns and emergency repairs.
- Follow all company safety procedures and workshop standards.
- Work with the operations team to reduce truck downtime.
- Ensure spare parts used are properly documented and managed.
Requirements:
- Minimum of SSCE/WAEC, Trade Test, OND, or Technical Certificate in Mechanical Engineering or related fields
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a truck mechanic or maintenance technician.
- Good knowledge of HOWO and Mantrac/Man Diesel trucks.
- Ability to diagnose and repair engine, electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical faults.
- Ability to use diagnostic tools and workshop equipment is an added advantage.
- Good understanding of preventive maintenance practices.
- Physically fit and willing to work in field or workshop environments.
- Ability to work independently and under pressure.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Valid driver’s license is an added advantage.
Added Advantage:
- Experience working in the oil & gas, construction, or logistics industry.
- Knowledge of fleet maintenance and heavy-duty equipment servicing.
- Welding or fabrication experience is an added advantage.
