Job Description:
- To ensure effective service delivery and efficient processing of all transactions in Treasury & Sundry Operations within the stipulated TAT. To provide effective supervision to the other team members.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensures daily Reconciliation and settlement of all payments and transfers done on the bank various electronic platforms.
- Review on daily basis transactions done via the bank application vis a vis the switching company (CBA Report vs Bank statements and Settlement Report).
- Ensures Daily Proof of accounts and reconciliation of all Operations GL Accounts & Settlement GLs in the Bank.
- Ensures Daily reconciliation of all our External Bank Statement with their corresponding Internal Mirror GLs e.g., CBN RTGS Statement, UBA Settlement Account, UBA Current Account, POS Merchant Settlement Account etc.
- Ensure proper documentation and archiving of transaction records.
- Efficient processing of all Interbank Placements, Investment bookings (TD, NTB, etc.)
- Introduce business processes improvement initiatives to improve customer service, cost effectiveness and controls.
- Supervise fixed deposits and placements maturities and follow up with the business to ensure roll over/liquidation instructions are received timely
- Ensure that every fixed deposit and placements new booking, roll over or liquidation is supported by appropriate instructions.
- Placement certificates must be obtained, and timely, from the counterparty banks and properly checked to conform with agreed terms.
- Ensure that Tbills pledged with the CBN are replaced two weeks prior to maturity
- Ensure that Tbills rates are competitive. Primary market purchases are preferable and should be explored prior to going to the secondary market.
- Supervise and ensure that all reconciliation officers perform their assigned roles on daily basis.
- Via reconciliation/proofs, identify failed inflows due to system issues to Customers Accounts and ensure appropriate entries are passed.
- Review, on daily basis, transactions done via the bank application vis a vis the switching company (CBA Report vs Bank statements and Settlement Report) and ascertain/ensure that appropriate/corrective entries are passed.
- And any other task that might be assigned from time to time.

Requirements:
Education/Training Programs:
- Minimum of First Degree or its equivalent in Accounting, Banking and Finance or related discipline.
- Post graduate degree or MBA is an added advantage.
- Professional qualification - ICAN, ACCA, CIBN, ACA, and MBA is desirable.
Experience:
- Minimum of 10 years’ post-graduation experience in Banking Operations.
Skills Necessary for job Function:
- Excellent customer service orientation.
- Sound understanding of products and operational processes of all key businesses in the Bank.
- Strong written/oral communication skills.
- Good understanding of presentation skills and MS Office.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive internal audit strategy for the Bank and evaluate the effectiveness of the bank's internal control systems and risk management processes
