Job Description:
We are seeking a highly organized and compassionate Front Desk / HMO Billing Officer to anchor our patient services in Ojodu Berger. In a high-pressure clinical environment, success is defined by "Operational Empathy", the ability to provide a warm, organized welcome to patients while simultaneously managing the technical complexities of HMO/NHIS approvals and medical records. This role is designed for a "Revenue Gatekeeper", a professional with at least 2 years of Post-NYSC experience who can blend "Emotional Intelligence" with the precision required to manage invoicing and medical record systems.
Your mission is to ensure "Zero-Friction Patient Flow and Accurate Billing Cycles." You will be the primary engine of our reception: responsible for patient registration, insurance liaison, and revenue collection. If you possess "Resilient Communication," an outstanding knowledge of the HMO/NHIS landscape, and the ability to manage emotionally charged situations with grace, we want you to drive our operational excellence.
Requirements:
1. Patient Access & Experience Management
Concierge Governance: Greet patients upon arrival, manage the reception traffic flow, and handle inbound inquiries via phone and email with professional poise.
Digital Registration: Onboard new patients onto the medical record system, ensuring all data is captured accurately for clinical and billing purposes.
Records Stewardship: Maintain a meticulous filing and retrieval system for patient records, ensuring data privacy and immediate accessibility for medical staff.
2. HMO Liaison & Revenue Assurance
Insurance Diplomacy: Act as the primary liaison between the hospital and HMO/NHIS providers, securing necessary approvals and authorizations for patient treatments.
Fiscal Integrity: Manage the invoicing and receipting process, ensuring all payments are processed accurately and financial records are reconciled daily.
Scheme Mastery: Apply an in-depth knowledge of various HMO/NHIS coverage limits and protocols to advise patients and minimize billing disputes.
3. Operational Resilience & Synergy
Conflict Resolution: Utilize initiative and empathy to manage pressured or emotionally charged situations, ensuring a calm environment for patients and staff.
Collaborative Support: Work closely with the clinical team to facilitate smooth handovers and ensure patient information is synchronized across departments.
Task Versatility: Adapt to various administrative tasks as assigned by management to support the overall efficiency of the hospital.
Qualifications and Skills:
Professional Profile
Education: B.Sc. in any Social Science or Science discipline.
Experience: Minimum of 2 years Post-NYSC experience in a similar front-office or billing role.
Location Edge: Must reside within Ojodu, Ogba, Isheri, or areas in close proximity to the hospital.
