About Company:
The vision of Samcham Holdings Logistics Limited is to become a leading logistics and transportation solutions provider recognized for operational reliability, safety excellence, and superior service delivery within Nigeria and across regional markets, to provide efficient, dependable, and safe logistics services through disciplined operational management, a competent workforce, and the adoption of industry best practices.
Job Description:
We are seeking a high-velocity and field-oriented Fleet Supervisor to anchor our logistics operations across multiple business locations. In the complex world of heavy-duty trucking, success is defined by "Throughput Fidelity", the ability to harmonize vehicle dispatch, driver discipline, and real-time incident recovery into a seamless engine of efficiency. This role is designed for a "Hands-on Field Architect" with 4–7 years of experience who can blend "Rigorous Safety Governance" with the "Operational Grit" required to manage high-volume loading and offloading activities in real time.
Your mission is to ensure "Zero-Friction Dispatch and Absolute Asset Accountability." You will be the primary steward of the fleet’s performance: responsible for monitoring truck turnaround times, enforcing driver compliance, and acting as the first responder to operational disruptions. If you possess "Exceptional Leadership Grit," a background in Transport Management, and a preference for field-based action over office-based administration, we want you to lead our logistics execution.
Requirements:
1. Field Orchestration & Movement Mastery
Dispatch Sovereignty: Provide active on-field supervision of truck movements, ensuring that loading and offloading cycles align perfectly with operational schedules.
Turnaround Optimization: Track fleet utilization and turnaround times (TAT), identifying and eliminating bottlenecks at loading points and delivery destinations.
Asset Tracking: Ensure vehicles operate strictly within approved routes and schedules, taking immediate corrective action against unauthorized diversions.
2. Driver Governance & Behavioral Discipline
Workforce Stewardship: Supervise drivers to ensure total compliance with company policies, monitoring attendance, punctuality, and adherence to professional standards.
Safety Enforcement: Act as the guardian of road safety, conducting regular compliance checks and ensuring drivers possess valid licenses and operational permits.
Conflict & Disciplinary Management: Address driver-related issues with firmness and fairness, escalating disciplinary matters to ensure a high-discipline culture.
3. Documentation Integrity & Incident Recovery
Waybill Sovereignty: Verify and ensure 100% accuracy in trip documentation, including waybills, trip sheets, delivery confirmations, and vehicle inspection reports.
Incident Response: Act as the primary lead for operational emergencies—including breakdowns, accidents, or delivery disruptions—coordinating recovery efforts in real time.
Performance Intelligence: Provide high-fidelity daily updates and reports on fleet metrics, ensuring management has an accurate view of on-ground activities.
Qualifications and Skills:
Professional Profile
Education: Minimum of OND, HND, or B.Sc. in Logistics, Transport Management, or a related field.
Experience: 4–7 years of robust experience in fleet supervision or logistics operations, specifically involving trucking and driver management.
Operational Bias: A distinct preference for field-based work and on-ground problem-solving.
Core Competencies
Leadership Prowess: Strong ability to manage and motivate a large group of drivers across multiple locations.
Problem-Solving Grit: Capability to make rapid, high-stakes decisions under pressure when responding to accidents or delays.
Administrative Accuracy: High level of discipline in maintaining accurate records and reporting on operational performance.
