Job Description:

We are seeking a diligent and integrity-driven Finance Officer to oversee the financial operations for our project focused on inclusive development and the empowerment of persons with disabilities in Kogi State. You will serve as the financial guardian of this multi-sectoral initiative, ensuring that all funds are utilized transparently, efficiently, and in full compliance with project contracts and regulatory standards.

Requirements:

• Financial Management: Maintain accurate accounting records and financial systems for the project. Oversee the entire payment cycle for project activities while ensuring strict adherence to budgetary guidelines.

• Compliance & Reporting: Ensure all financial provisions of the project contract are met. Generate and submit timely, accurate financial reports to management and stakeholders.

• Budgetary Oversight: Monitor budgetary spending, guide fund utilization, and proactively flag any variances.

• Representation: Represent the organization in professional meetings regarding finance and fund management.

• Administrative Excellence: Manage administrative documentation, maintain organized filing systems, and coordinate office activities to support the project team.

• Procurement & Procedures: Monitor compliance with internal administrative procedures and assist in preparing internal reports and official correspondence.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics.

• Experience: Minimum of 2 years of post-qualification experience in a finance or accounting role.

• Professional Certifications: Possession of or progress toward professional qualifications (ACA, CNA, ACCA, or CIMA) is a significant added advantage.

• Technical Mastery:

  • Solid knowledge of financial/accounting procedures and tax regulations.

  • Proficiency in financial software (e.g., QuickBooks, ProMIS) and Advanced MS Excel.
