We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Description:

  • We are seeking a meticulous and proactive Finance Associate to support our finance and loan operations.
  • This role will be responsible for managing daily accounting tasks, loan reconciliations, payroll processes, expense reporting, and financial analysis.
  • The ideal candidate possesses strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a solid understanding of both internal financial workflows and lending processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage daily accounting operations and ensure all financial transactions are accurately recorded.
  • Oversee loan disbursements, monitor repayments, update loan schedules, and calculate interest accurately.
  • Perform bank, loan, and control account reconciliations, resolving any identified discrepancies promptly.
  • Support payroll processing, ensuring accurate statutory deductions and timely remittances (PAYE, pension, etc.).
  • Process vendor payments, staff reimbursements, and maintain proper documentation for all expenses.
  • Prepare journal entries, month-end and year-end closing schedules, and periodic financial statements.
  • Generate financial, cash flow, and loan performance reports to support management decisions.
  • Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and monitoring of company costs.
  • Ensure adherence to internal control systems, audit standards, and relevant regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with credit, collections, operations, and audit teams to maintain financial accuracy and integrity.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
  • 2–3 years of experience in finance or accounting; experience within microfinance, lending, or financial services environments is strongly preferred.
  • Solid understanding of loan accounting, payroll processes, and statutory remittances.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with accounting or loan management software.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Professional qualification or part qualification (e.g., ICAN, ACCA, ACA) is an added advantage.
