Job Description:
Facilities Maintenance and Operations:
- Oversee daily facility operations, including electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and mechanical systems.
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules for buildings and equipment.
- Ensure timely repair of all facilities-related issues to prevent service disruptions.
- Conduct regular inspections to ensure that facilities are in good working order.
Health, Safety, and Environmental Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards (HSE).
- Conduct routine safety checks and risk assessments of facilities and equipment.
- Promote and enforce safety policies and emergency procedures (e.g., fire drills, first aid readiness).
- Coordinate waste management and ensure a clean, safe environment for all users.
Vendor and Contract Management:
- Supervise external contractors and service providers for cleaning, security, pest control, maintenance, and repairs.
- Review and negotiate service contracts, ensuring quality and cost efficiency.
- Monitor contractor performance and ensure timely delivery of services.
Budgeting and Resource Management:
- Prepare and manage the facilities budget, including expenses for maintenance, utilities, and supplies.
- Track expenditure to ensure cost-effectiveness and adherence to financial plans.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, assets, and service contracts.
Infrastructure and Project Management:
- Plan and oversee facility upgrade or renovation projects from start to completion.
- Liaise with architects, engineers, and contractors for building and infrastructure improvements.
- Ensure that all facility projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
Team Leadership and Collaboration:
- Supervise facility staff (technicians, cleaners, security personnel) and assign duties effectively.
- Train and motivate team members to maintain high performance and adherence to safety standards.
- Collaborate with departments to understand their facility needs and provide timely support.
