Ikoyi, Lagos, Nigeria | Posted on 18/05/2026

About Company:

Sujimoto Group is Nigeria's foremost luxury real estate and hospitality brand, widely regarded as the Rolls Royce of luxury real estate in Africa. Founded by Dr. Sijibomi Ogundele, Sujimoto has delivered some of Nigeria's most iconic developments — including LeonardoBySujimoto, LucreziaBySujimoto, GiulianoBySujimoto, and the S-Hotel — across Ikoyi, Banana Island, and Abuja. The Group's hospitality arm, Sujimoto Residences, operates premium shortlet apartments that are consistently fully booked, alongside a restaurant and lounge, all built on the same philosophy that defines every Sujimoto product: we don't do things 10% better — we do things 10 times better. We are now expanding our hospitality team and looking for driven, high-standard professionals who are ready to build something exceptional with us.

Job Description:

  • We are looking for a proactive Facility Manager who will own the day-to-day maintenance and upkeep of our properties.
  • You will manage preventive maintenance, supervise repairs, coordinate with contractors, track assets and ensure every facility runs smoothly.
  • But critically, you will take initiative — spotting inefficiencies, suggesting improvements, optimising costs and continuously raising the standard of how we maintain our properties. You won't wait to be asked; you'll see what needs doing and own it.

Core Responsibilities
Preventive & Reactive Maintenance:

  • Execute preventive maintenance schedules across all building systems — HVAC, electrical, plumbing, elevators, generators, water treatment.
  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests and urgent facility issues — ensuring minimal disruption to guests and operations.
  • Troubleshoot equipment failures and faults — determining root cause and whether to repair or replace.
  • Maintain maintenance records for all work completed — tracking costs, labour, parts and equipment lifespan.

Asset & Equipment Management:

  • Maintain an accurate asset register of all building systems and major equipment — with maintenance history and lifecycle estimates.
  • Plan and execute preventive maintenance schedules to extend equipment life and avoid costly emergency breakdowns.
  • Monitor equipment performance — identifying when replacements or upgrades are needed before failure occurs.
  • Manage spare parts inventory — ensuring critical parts are on hand to minimise downtime.

Contractor & Vendor Coordination:

  • Coordinate with external contractors for specialist work (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, elevators, etc.).
  • Ensure contractor work meets our standards, timelines and safety requirements.
  • Monitor contractor costs and negotiate competitive rates — driving value without compromising quality.
  • Maintain a roster of reliable contractors and manage relationships for future work.

Utilities & Cost Management:

  • Monitor water, electricity and fuel consumption — identifying anomalies, leaks and opportunities for cost savings.
  • Investigate utilities discrepancies — determining whether there are faults, leaks or inefficiencies to address.
  • Implement cost-saving measures — whether that's scheduling maintenance off-peak, optimising equipment settings or reducing wastage.
  • Ensure all utility payments are accurate and processes are efficient.

Guest & Staff Experience:

  • Ensure all guest-facing facilities are immaculate, functional and comfortable — temperature, lighting, cleanliness, amenities.
  • Respond to guest complaints about facilities with speed and professionalism.
  • Maintain staff facilities (kitchens, restrooms, work areas) to a high standard.
  • Coordinate with operations to ensure facility support seamlessly meets operational needs.

Initiative & Continuous Improvement — Key Part of This Role:

  • Spot maintenance inefficiencies and suggest better ways of doing things — don't wait for problems.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce costs without compromising quality or guest experience.
  • Drive adoption of better maintenance practices, tools or equipment that improve outcomes.
  • Suggest capital improvements or replacements that will reduce ongoing maintenance costs or improve reliability.
  • Build relationships with contractors and operations teams — understanding their needs and delivering solutions.

Safety & Compliance:

  • Work with the HSE function to ensure all facilities meet safety standards.
  • Maintain compliance with applicable building codes and safety regulations.
  • Report facility-related safety concerns to management and HSE.

Requirements:

Experience:

  • 3+ years in facilities or maintenance management
  • Familiarity with maintenance management software or systemsis an advantage
  • Experience in hospitality, hotels or multi-property operations is valued
  • Cross-industry experience is welcome — maintenance principles are universal
  • Experience with preventive maintenance scheduling

Skills & Mindset:

  • Self-motivated — you identify what needs doing and do it
  • Proactive — you prevent problems rather than just react to them
  • Practical problem-solver — you troubleshoot issues methodically
  • Detail-oriented — you maintain records and track performance
  • Cost-conscious — you find ways to reduce costs without cutting corners
  • Initiative-taker — you suggest improvements and drive them forward

Technical Knowledge:

  • Basic understanding of HVAC, electrical, plumbing systems
  • Familiarity with preventive maintenance planning
  • Ability to read building plans and maintenance documentation
  • Willingness to learn and pursue relevant certifications
  • Comfortable troubleshooting equipment and identifying faults.

What we Offer

  • Competitive salary based on experience
  • Opportunity to grow into more responsibility
  • A role where your initiative is valued and visible
  • A workplace where quality maintenance is appreciated
  • Clear expectations and support from management.
