Job Description:

We are seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Electrical Design Engineer to join our technical team. This role is a unique blend of technical mastery and commercial acumen, requiring a professional who can transition seamlessly from developing complex electrical schematics to supporting the bidding and financial evaluation of engineering projects. You will be responsible for ensuring that all designs are technically sound, cost-effective, and aligned with our strategic business objectives.

The ideal candidate is a proactive engineer with a strong foundation in MEP and ELVS solutions, capable of delivering pixel-perfect technical drawings while maintaining a sharp focus on project budgeting and commercial viability.

Requirements:

Technical Design & Engineering

• Drafting & Design: Develop detailed electrical designs, technical drawings, and schematics using AutoCAD, Revit, and other industry-standard tools.

• MEP & ELVS Integration: Design and implement comprehensive Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems and Extra-Low Voltage Systems (ELVS), including fire alarms, CCTV, and data networks.

• Standard Compliance: Ensure all designs adhere to local and international electrical codes, safety standards, and project specifications.

Commercial Support & Project Bidding

• Costing & Estimation: Prepare accurate cost estimates and detailed budgets for materials, labor, and equipment for upcoming engineering projects.

• Tender Support: Assist the commercial team in preparing technical bids and tender documents, ensuring that proposals are both competitive and technically feasible.

• Commercial Evaluation: Conduct thorough evaluations of vendor quotes and project costs to identify opportunities for value engineering and cost optimization.

Project Lifecycle & Collaboration

• Cross-Functional Coordination: Work closely with project managers, architects, and site engineers to ensure designs are successfully translated from paper to execution.

• Technical Advisory: Provide engineering insights during project meetings to resolve technical challenges and refine project scope.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Education:

  • B.Sc. Degree or HND in Electrical Engineering or a related field.

• Experience:

  • 1–2 years of proven experience in engineering design and commercial evaluation.

• Technical Proficiency:

  • Expertise in AutoCAD and Revit is mandatory.

  • Strong working knowledge of MEP and ELVS solutions.

• Commercial Skills:

  • Solid understanding of costing, budgeting, and the commercial bidding process.

• Core Competencies:

  • Independence: Ability to manage complex design tasks with minimal supervision.

  • Collaboration: Strong team-player mentality with excellent interpersonal skills.
