Job Description:

We are seeking a highly technical and client-facing Database Engineer with a strong presales background to lead our database services portfolio growth. You will be the primary technical authority for our customers, guiding them through complex database modernization journeys, cloud migrations, and high-availability architecture design. If you can translate intricate database requirements into clear, value-driven technical solutions and build strong business cases, this is the ideal role for you.

Requirements:

• Presales Leadership: Act as the technical lead for RFPs/RFQs, solution documentation, Bill of Materials (BOM) creation, and effort estimation.

• Architecture & Design: Design robust High Availability/Disaster Recovery (HA/DR) architectures and infrastructure plans for Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL, and NoSQL engines.

• Modernization & Migration: Lead database modernization assessments and execute end-to-end cloud migration proposals (on-prem to cloud, cloud-to-cloud, or cross-engine).

• Customer Engagement: Conduct high-impact customer demos, Proof of Concepts (POCs), and technical strategy sessions. Present performance optimization approaches to enterprise-level stakeholders.

• TCO/ROI Analysis: Develop comprehensive cost models, including licensing alignment, cloud sizing, and total cost of ownership (TCO) comparisons.

• Operational Excellence: Maintain, patch, and optimize production database environments. Develop High-Level Designs (HLDs), Low-Level Designs (LLDs), and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

Qualifications and Skills:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent experience.

• Database Expertise: 3–6+ years of hands-on experience in at least two major engines: Oracle (11g–19c), MS SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or MySQL/MariaDB.

• Operational Skills: Proven experience with backup/restore, monitoring, performance tuning, and HA/DR technologies (e.g., Oracle DG, SQL AlwaysOn, PostgreSQL replication).

• Cloud Proficiency: Hands-on experience managing cloud-native databases (Azure SQL, Managed Instance, Amazon RDS/Aurora, DynamoDB, Cosmos DB).

• Automation & Tools (Preferred): Familiarity with Terraform/Ansible, scripting (Python/Bash/PowerShell), and container platforms (Docker/K8S).

• Certifications: OCP, Microsoft SQL certifications, PostgreSQL certifications, and Cloud-specific database specialty certifications (AWS/Azure) are highly valued.
