Job Description:

CRADI is conducting a nationwide study on Freedom of Religion and Belief across all 36 states of Nigeria and the FCT. We are looking for experienced, ethical, and meticulous Data Collectors to gather high-quality evidence that will inform critical humanitarian and policy interventions.

This role requires individuals who can navigate sensitive cultural and religious contexts with absolute neutrality and professional integrity. If you are a skilled field researcher available for a high-impact, short-term assignment, we invite you to apply.

Requirements:

1. Field Execution & Methodology

  • Briefing: Attend a mandatory session on Wednesday, 18 February 2026, covering research tools, FoRB methodology, and ethical protocols.

  • Data Gathering: Conduct structured interviews and surveys within assigned locations from 19 – 21 February 2026.

  • Integrity: Ensure the accurate recording of responses using approved digital/physical tools, strictly adhering to the "do no harm" principle.

2. Ethical Compliance

  • Informed Consent: Ensure every respondent fully understands the purpose of the research before participating.

  • Neutrality & Confidentiality: Maintain a non-biased stance during sensitive religious inquiries and guarantee the total anonymity of all participants.

Qualifications and Skills:

Professional Profile

  • Experience: Proven experience in field data collection, specifically in social science, human rights, or religious studies.

  • Tech Savviness: Proficiency in using mobile data collection platforms (e.g., ODK, KoboToolbox, or SurveyCTO).

  • Language Skills: Fluency in English and the primary local language(s) of the state you are applying for.

Personal Attributes

  • Respectful Engagement: Ability to communicate with diverse stakeholders (religious leaders, community members, etc.) with cultural sensitivity.

  • Punctuality: Ability to meet the strict three-day fieldwork deadline.

  • Neutrality: Ability to set aside personal beliefs to record data objectively.
