Job Description:
- The Lab Technician is responsible for conducting laboratory tests and quality checks on coating materials and finished pipes to ensure compliance with industry standards and project specifications.
- This role supports production by verifying material properties, coating performance, and environmental safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Test coating materials: Perform laboratory analysis on PE, ADH, and FBE materials to confirm quality.
- Conduct pipe sample tests: Check adhesion, CD, DSC and all related laboratory testing.
- Maintain lab equipment: Calibrate, clean, ensure proper functioning of testing instruments and do not miss use the company property.
- Record test results: Document findings, prepare reports, and share with QC and production teams. · Support quality assurance: Verify compliance with client specifications and international standards. · Handle chemicals safely: Follow HSE protocols for storage, usage, and disposal of lab materials.
- Assist in audits: Provide laboratory data during client or regulatory inspections
Requirements:
- Diploma or Degree in Chemistry, Materials Science, or Laboratory Technology.
- Experience in industrial laboratory testing, preferably in coatings or oil & gas.
- Knowledge of pipe coating processes and material standards.
- Strong analytical and documentation skills.
- Familiarity with lab safety protocols and ISO standards.
Work Environment:
- Laboratory facilities within pipe coating plants.
- Collaboration with QC inspectors, production supervisors, and HSE officers.
- Exposure to chemicals, testing equipment, and coated materials.
