Job Description:

Key responsibilities:

Financial Reporting 

•  Lead the preparation and consolidation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports across multiple businesses
• Own the coordination of month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timeliness and accuracy across entities
• Review and validate general ledger entries, reconciliations, and journal postings for completeness and integrity.
• Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards (e.g., IFRS) and internal financial policies

Performance Management and Analysis

• Own financial performance tracking across portfolio businesses (revenue, cost, profitability, and efficiency metrics)
• Lead budget vs. actual reviews, providing clear variance analysis and actionable insights
• Develop and manage financial dashboards to drive visibility and decision-making across businesses
• Proactively identify financial risks, gaps, and opportunities, and drive corrective actions. 

Budgeting and Forecasting

•  Lead the budgeting and forecasting process across assigned businesses.
• Drive alignment between business plans and financial targets.
• Hold business stakeholders accountable for financial performance and delivery against plan. 

Cash Flow and Financial Control

• Own cash flow visibility and planning across businesses
• Monitor bank balances, payments, and collections, ensuring optimal liquidity management
• Enforce financial controls and highlight gaps, ensuring discipline across all businesses

Business Partnering

• Act as the primary finance partner to business owners across multiple entities
• Provide strategic financial insights to support growth, pricing, cost optimization, and investment decisions.
• Drive a culture of financial accountability and performance discipline across businesses.
• Ensure all business activities are aligned with overall financial objectives and targets

Audit and Compliance

• Lead coordination of audit activities across assigned businesses
• Serve as a key contact for auditors and support resolution of audit queries
• Drive implementation and closure of audit recommendations.

Team Leadership and Coordination

• Provide direction and oversight for finance operations across businesses
• Coordinate activities across finance to ensure consistency in reporting and processes
• Support capability building and continuous improvement within the finance function

Requirements:

Requirements
 Strong knowledge of financial reporting, analysis, and accounting principles
 Solid understanding of accounting standards (e.g., IFRS) and financial controls
 Experience managing financial performance across multiple business units is an advantage
 Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
 Proficiency in financial tools (e.g., Excel) and accounting systems
 Experience working with cross-functional teams and business stakeholders
 Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

Qualifications and Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field
• Must have completed NYSC
• Minimum of 6–8 years’ experience in finance, accounting, or any related field
• ICAN certification is required.
