Job Description:
We are seeking a high-caliber Business Development & Marketing Officer to serve as the primary growth engine for our legal information platform. In the specialized field of legal technology and information services, success is defined by the ability to build high-trust relationships with law firms, academic institutions, and corporate legal departments. This role is designed for a "Market Architect", a professional with at least 5 years of experience who can blend traditional high-level networking with modern digital customer acquisition strategies.
Your mission is to ensure "Market Dominance and Revenue Scalability." You will be responsible for the entire business lifecycle: from designing annual sales targets and securing institutional partnerships to orchestrating digital campaigns that position the client as the definitive legal resource in West Africa. If you possess a "Revenue-First" mindset and the professional grit to present to diverse, elite audiences, we want you to lead our expansion.
Requirements:
1. Institutional Partnership & Sales Engineering
Strategic Targeting: Develop and implement rigorous annual sales targets, ensuring that every marketing initiative translates directly into business profitability.
Alliance Building: Establish and manage high-value partnerships with the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Law Faculties, and professional bodies to embed the client's products into the legal workflow.
Deal Closure: Lead the end-to-end sales process, from initial prospecting and high-impact presentations to final contract negotiation and onboarding.
2. Brand Visibility & Digital Advocacy
Digital Ecosystem Growth: Recommend and execute cutting-edge digital marketing approaches and social media strategies to expand the brand’s footprint across professional networks.
Content & Promotion: Organize and lead sales promotion activities, ensuring that the brand is visible at key industry conferences, webinars, and legal events.
Competitive Strategy: Design and implement "Competitive Response" strategies to maintain a market lead, utilizing research to pivot against rival information providers.
3. Market Intelligence & Retention Governance
Data-Driven Insight: Conduct continuous market research to analyze competitor activities and evolving customer preferences, providing leadership with actionable data for strategic planning.
Loyalty Architecture: Design and implement client retention policies to maximize "Lifetime Value" (LTV) and encourage repeat subscriptions.
Fiscal Responsibility: Prepare and manage marketing budgets to ensure all campaigns achieve a high Return on Investment (ROI) and cost-effective execution.
Qualifications and Skills:
Professional Profile
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Sales, Marketing, or Business Administration. An MBA or professional marketing certification (e.g., NIMN, CIM) is highly preferred.
Experience: Minimum of 5 years of proven success in business development or sales, ideally within Legal Services, FinTech, or SaaS (Software as a Service) environments.
Presentation Mastery: Exceptional ability to create impactful presentations and deliver them confidently to senior legal partners and academic boards.
