We are recruiting to fill the position below:
Job Description:
We are seeking a technically rigorous and safety-conscious Biomedical Engineer to anchor our clinical technology infrastructure. In a high-precision ophthalmic environment, success is defined by "Sub-Micron Reliability", the ability to ensure that advanced lasers, imaging systems, and surgical units operate with absolute fidelity. This role is designed for a "Technical Liaison" with 1–5 years of experience who can bridge the gap between complex engineering and life-changing medical outcomes.
Your mission is to ensure "Zero-Failure Surgical Environments and Optimized Diagnostic Integrity." You will be the primary steward of our high-value assets: responsible for Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM), the calibration of sophisticated optics, and the rigorous enforcement of international safety standards. If you possess "Analytical Grit," a degree in Biomedical or Electronics Engineering, and a passion for ophthalmic technology, we want you to drive our clinical excellence.
Requirements:
1. Specialized Maintenance & Precision Calibration
Predictive & Corrective Care: Perform rigorous Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM) and rapid corrective repairs on specialized ophthalmic equipment including Slit Lamps, OCTs, and Operating Microscopes.
Optical & Laser Integrity: Calibrate Excimer and Femtosecond Lasers to manufacturer specifications, ensuring the highest level of safety for refractive surgeries.
Surgical Readiness: Maintain and troubleshoot Phacoemulsifiers and Phaco-Vitrectomy units to ensure zero downtime during critical surgical sessions.
2. Installation, Asset Governance & Compliance
Deployment & Pre-Acceptance: Oversee the installation of new medical devices, conducting thorough pre-acceptance checks to verify that equipment meets clinical requirements upon arrival.
Regulatory Stewardship: Ensure all devices comply with global standards (e.g., ISO 13485, FDA) and local safety protocols, including mandatory electrical safety testing.
Asset Intelligence: Maintain high-fidelity inventories and detailed service logbooks, documenting every calibration and repair to provide an audit-ready history for each device.
3. Training, Safety & Vendor Orchestration
Clinical Empowerment: Conduct training sessions for medical staff on the safe and proper operation of complex diagnostic and surgical equipment to minimize operator error.
Vendor Diplomacy: Monitor Annual Maintenance Contracts (AMC/CMC) with external suppliers and manage critical spare parts inventory to facilitate rapid repairs.
Emergency Response: Act as the primary technical responder for emergency service calls, providing real-time troubleshooting for technology failures during surgeries.
Qualifications and Skills:
Professional Profile
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering, Clinical Engineering, or Electronics/Electrical Engineering.
Experience: 1–5 years in a hospital setting. (Direct experience with Ophthalmic devices is highly preferred).
Technical Mastery: Strong understanding of electronic, mechanical, and optical systems, with proficiency in using specialized calibration tools.
Core Competencies
Analytical Grit: Exceptional problem-solving skills under pressure, particularly during active surgical sessions.
Communication Mastery: Ability to translate complex technical jargon into actionable instructions for medical staff.
Mobility: Willingness to travel between hospital branches and handle emergency calls as needed.
