We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Description:

  • We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Audit Trainee with up to three (3) years of practical experience in a professional auditing or accounting firm.
  • The successful candidate will support audit engagements, assist in statutory audits, and ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, tax laws, and regulatory requirements in Nigeria.
  • This role provides structured exposure to audit planning, execution, reporting, and client interaction under the supervision of senior audit professionals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the planning and execution of statutory, internal, and special audits for clients across various industries
  • Perform audit fieldwork including verification of financial records, internal controls testing, and substantive procedures
  • Prepare audit working papers in line with firm standards and regulatory requirements
  • Assist in reviewing financial statements for compliance with IFRS, Companies and Allied Matters Act (CAMA).
  • Support senior auditors in identifying audit risks and control weaknesses
  • Participate in stock counts, fixed asset verification, and cash audits
  • Assist in drafting audit reports and management letters
  • Support tax-related assignments including basic tax computations and compliance reviews
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere strictly to professional ethics
  • Liaise with clients to obtain audit information and documentation
  • Carry out other audit-related tasks as assigned by supervisors.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in an auditing or accounting firm in Nigeria
  • Partly qualified or in progress with professional certifications such as ICAN, ACCA, or ANAN (added advantage)
  • Good understanding of IFRS, Nigerian tax laws, and audit procedures
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting/audit software
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills
  • High level of integrity, professionalism, and attention to detail
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
