Job Description:
Green Africa is seeking experienced, safety-minded Captains to join our rapidly expanding Flight Operations team. As a value airline, our mission is to make high-quality air travel affordable for everyone. Our Captains are the frontline commanders of this mission, responsible for balancing the highest standards of safety with the operational efficiency that allows us to deliver low fares to our customers. As the commander of the aircraft, you will be a brand ambassador, demonstrating professional excellence and ensuring a safe, seamless experience for every passenger, crew member, and cargo shipment.
Requirements:
1. Command & Flight Safety
Aircraft Commander: Act as the final authority for the operation and safety of the aircraft during all normal, abnormal, and emergency situations.
Risk Management: Maintain safety at the highest possible level, making critical decisions that prioritize the well-being of passengers, crew, and assets.
Operational Efficiency: Execute flight operations with a focus on fuel efficiency and on-time performance, supporting Green Africa's goal of providing affordable fares.
2. Professional Standards & Leadership
Brand Ambassadorship: Act as a representative of Green Africa, upholding the corporate image through high professional standards and exceptional interpersonal conduct.
Crew Resource Management (CRM): Lead and mentor the First Officer and Cabin Crew, fostering a collaborative and communicative cockpit environment.
Compliance: Ensure all flight activities strictly adhere to Nigerian Civil Aviation Regulations (Nig. CARs), ICAO standards, and company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
3. Operational Oversight
Pre-flight & Post-flight: Oversee thorough pre-flight briefings, weather analysis, and aircraft inspections; ensure accurate completion of all flight documentation and logs.
Cargo & Passenger Safety: Maintain ultimate responsibility for the safe carriage of all passengers and cargo from engine start to shutdown
Qualifications and Skills:
Flight Credentials
License: Must hold a valid ICAO ATPL with a current ATR 72-500/600 type rating.
Medical: Current First-Class Medical Certificate.
Language: ICAO Level 5 English proficiency or higher.
Recency: Must have flown the ATR 72-500/600 within the last 12 months.
Experience Requirements
Total Time: A minimum of 6,000 total flying hours.
Command Time: At least 2,000 airline command hours specifically on the ATR 500/600 series.
