Job Description:

  • Attend client engagements as part of the cross functional CIB deal team and deliver technical components of vanilla pitch presentations and/or vanilla aspects of structured pitches, in support of the deal process where required.
  • Build, review, analyse, evaluate and maintain financial models. Perform valuations and other analyses (e.g. credit, discounted cash flow and multiples-based analyses).
  • Contribute analysis, insights, financial models and documentation management towards the financial and capital structuring of bespoke transactions.
  • Contribute towards the delivery of digital solutions to augment client experience to allow for interactive monitoring of investment activities.
  • Develop a proficient understanding of products, processes and the markets in which CIB operates. Use understanding to independently manage transactions through internal processes, engaging with internal stakeholders to obtain relevant regulatory sign-offs and multiple levels of internal buy-in to ensure a smooth operational process in executing client transactions.
  • Develop client networks, and with guidance from more experienced team members, maintain regular contact with a small group of clients to develop an understanding of their businesses and the drivers of their financial performance to enable the provision of bespoke and innovative client solutions.
  • Develop external stakeholder relationships across various market practitioners including lawyers, accountancy and advisory firms. Develop, review and update deal execution timetables / project timelines, ensuring all sequencing is aligned to relevant regulatory frameworks, thereby enabling successful and swift deal execution to deliver on the client's mandates.
  • Formulate supporting documentation including circulars, offering memorandums, engagement letters, term sheets, pricing supplements and legal agreements while adhering to the risk and regulatory framework. Assess and document risk and regulatory components of transactions, enabling more experienced team members with due diligence and ensuring continued transaction feasibility from deal inception to conclusion.
  • Foster own internal stakeholder relationships across CIB (e.g. Client Coverage, Global Markets, Legal) to develop market understanding, industry knowledge and execution capabilities. Manage delivery against several workstreams across origination, structuring and execution of transactions, liaising with and coordinating activities across internal and external stakeholders throughout the process.
  • Manage quality control of all deliverables, paying close attention to detail to deliver a professional standard. Monitor financial performance to support effective maintenance of financial control within the team. Contribute to weekly/monthly reports as well as quantitative/qualitative ad-hoc reports as required, ensuring inputs are provided timeously and according to defined formats and procedures.
  • Essential Functions Participate in marketing via conference calls, physical roadshows, conferences to meet and greet clients and engage bridging discussions between issuers and investors. Provide on the job guidance to less experienced team members, managing information flow, and providing credit and exposure information, as appropriate to resolve any escalated issues and support achievement of objectives as per defined quality standards. Show origination initiative.
  • Generate insights and recommendations from research and analyses activities to proactively support more experienced team members across origination, structuring and execution workstreams. Stay abreast of news, research and insights on the macro economy, market complexities, industry developments and the client and counterparty base (including lawyers and rating agencies).
  • Source, collate, evaluate, and maintain relevant, quality and accurate documents, data, information and trends and generate insights to support workstreams across origination, structuring and execution. Understand and implement applicable policies, systems, processes and procedures to ensure compliance with CIB risk and regulatory framework and fulfilment of all relevant risk and business control requirements.
  • Guide less experienced team members to enhance their understanding and application of standards, procedures and products. Work with more experienced team members to define the pitch book content.
  • Organise and manage the preparation of marketing and roadshow presentations (e.g. credential information) proposal, pitch books and presentations for client engagements. Communicate multi-disciplinary information (i.e. regulatory, financial, market data) in a clear, concise and relevant manner to assist and guide decision-makers, ensuring adherence to defined risk parameters and compliance standards.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Type of Qualification:  First Degree in Engineering, Finance. Accounting, or Social Sciences with CFA level 1 or chartered with CFA, ACCA, ACA, ACIB etc.
  • Field of Study: Engineering, Finance. Accounting, or Social Sciences


Experience Required:

Investment Banking

  • 3-4 years Demonstrated ability to work independently, with a track record managing multiple workstreams to deliver timely results. A track record comfortably interacts with business clients and management and demonstrated organisational, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • Required 3-4 years Display a genuine interest for financial markets and global economics with relevant industry experience via Investment Banking, Management Consulting, Private Equity, or equivalent. A strong track record in financial modelling and analysis. Basic understanding of P&L and various capital structures required. Asset-backed financing and/or credit experience is a plus.
  • Required 3-4 years Seasoned technology experience and the ability to learn new software quickly. Excellent Excel (macros, pivot tables, look-ups and filtering), Word and PowerPoint skills. Required
