Job Description:
Bau Strabe Limited is seeking a versatile, detail-oriented Accountant / Admin to serve as the backbone of our operational efficiency. In this dual-function role, you will be responsible for maintaining the integrity of our financial records while ensuring our office and project sites run smoothly. We need a professional who understands the specific financial dynamics of the construction industry tracking site expenditures, managing procurement documentation, and ensuring seamless administrative flow.
Requirements:
Accounting Excellence:
Financial Oversight: Manage daily cashbooks, ledgers, and journals; perform bank reconciliations for all company accounts.
Project Accountability: Monitor site expenditures, track project budgets, and provide variance reports to management.
Tax & Statutory Compliance: Manage payroll processing and ensure the timely remittance of all statutory deductions (PAYE, VAT, WHT, Pension).
AP/AR Management: Handle all invoicing, payment schedules, and expense reports with high accuracy.
Reporting: Support the preparation of monthly management accounts and financial statements.
Administrative Support:
Office Coordination: Manage filing systems, document control, and general office correspondence.
Procurement Support: Maintain organized procurement records and manage supplier documentation.
Site Logistics: Assist with logistics coordination for site operations and project-based requirements.
HR Support: Assist in maintaining staff records and essential HR documentation.
Qualifications and Skills:
Education: HND or B.Sc. in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
Experience: 2–4 years of relevant experience. Previous experience in the construction or project-based industry is a significant advantage.
Technical Proficiency:
Expert-level knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks or Sage.
Core Competencies:
Strong grasp of Nigerian tax laws and statutory obligations.
Exceptional multitasking skills with the ability to switch between high-level accounting and daily administrative tasks.
Unwavering integrity, attention to detail, and accountability.
