Job Description:

A reputable and growing Microfinance Bank in Ekiti State is seeking a meticulous Account Officer to join their Financial Control department. Reporting to the Head of Financial Control, you will be the bank's key liaison for regulatory accuracy. This role is perfect for a detail-oriented finance professional who understands the critical nature of CBN/NDIC reporting and is eager to ensure the integrity of the bank’s financial health through rigorous accounting standards and timely statutory submissions.

Requirements:

• Regulatory Reporting: Prepare and ensure the timely, accurate rendition of all mandatory returns to the CBN (via FinA), NDIC, and other regulators.

• Accounting Operations: Maintain the general ledger, ensure all postings align with IFRS standards, and conduct thorough daily/monthly reconciliations.

• Tax & Statutory Compliance: Manage the computation, filing, and remittance of WHT, VAT, PAYE, and other relevant tax obligations to avoid penalties.

• Financial Control: Assist in budgetary control, variance analysis, and the maintenance of the fixed asset register to ensure complete transparency of the bank's assets.

• Process Integrity: Review financial transactions to ensure they meet internal controls and provide support during external audits.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree or HND in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline.

• Experience: 2–4 years of active accounting or financial control experience within a regulated financial institution (Microfinance or Deposit Money Bank preferred).
