Job Description:

We are seeking a high-velocity and detail-oriented Account Officer to anchor the financial operations of our Lagos facility. In a fast-moving commercial environment, success is defined by "Ledger Sovereignty", the ability to harmonize high-volume transactions with the clinical precision required for tax compliance, bank reconciliations, and financial reporting. This role is designed for a "Fiscal Architect" with 2–3 years of experience who can blend "Analytical Grit" (using Excel and ERP software) with the "Operational Integrity" required to manage company funds and records.

Requirements:

1. Ledger Orchestration & Transactional Governance

  • Bookkeeping Excellence: Maintain high-fidelity records of all financial transactions, ensuring that every entry in the general ledger is categorized with millimetric precision.

  • Accounts Payable/Receivable: Manage the end-to-end lifecycle of vendor payments and client invoicing, ensuring zero-bottleneck cash flow and timely settlements.

  • Software Sovereignty: Utilize accounting software (QuickBooks, Sage, or similar ERPs) and advanced Microsoft Excel functions to automate reporting and reduce manual errors.

2. Reconciliation & Regulatory Fidelity

  • Bank Reconciliation Logic: Conduct rigorous monthly bank reconciliations to ensure that internal records perfectly align with bank statements, identifying and resolving variances immediately.

  • Tax & Statutory Compliance: Support the preparation of monthly tax filings (VAT, WHT, PAYE), ensuring the organization remains in a "Low-Risk" status with regulatory bodies like the LIRS and FIRS.

  • Audit Preparation: Maintain a "Ready-to-View" filing system, ensuring all vouchers, receipts, and financial documents are organized for internal and external audits.

3. Financial Analysis & Integrity

  • Analytical Reporting: Generate periodic financial statements and expense reports, providing management with clinical insights into spending patterns and budget performance.

  • Integrity Engineering: Implement and uphold strict internal controls to prevent fraud, waste, or financial mismanagement within the organization.

  • Problem-Solving Prowess: Identify and investigate financial discrepancies, proposing technical solutions to improve the accuracy of the accounting cycle.

Qualifications and Skills:

Professional Profile

  • Experience: Minimum of 2–3 years of robust work experience in accounting, bookkeeping, or a finance-related role.

  • Technical Mastery: High-level proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables) and modern Accounting Software.

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree or HND in Accounting, Finance, or Economics.

Core Competencies
